Change on the ‘Horizon’

I collaborated with Sunnyvale’s communications officer and graphic designer on the redesign and rebranding of Sunnyvale’s citywide newsletter, now called Horizon. We created a newsletter with a fresh, modern look and a journalistic tone that aims to show a more human side to city services.

‘Help Is on the Way’—timeline of a 911 call

I sat in for an afternoon with Sunnyvale’s emergency dispatch team as they answered 911 calls. I wrote and organized the copy, and together with our communications team, the dispatchers and a graphic designer, created an annotated timeline to illustrate what goes on behind the scenes of a 911 call.

‘The Main Event’—hitting the streets of Sunnyvale to learn how the city keeps the water flowing

There are 340 miles of water mains beneath Sunnyvale’s streets. I accompanied a public works crew out replacing one mile of that.
